About the Film + TV Forum

Who We Are

The Vancouver Film & TV Forum, the largest event of its kind in western Canada, takes place annually during the Vancouver International Film Festival. Our mandate is to develop and strengthen the Canadian film and television industry and to help our filmmakers produce quality product for domestic and international markets.

What We Do

The Film & TV Forum hosts a series of panel discussions, pitching forums, master classes, tete-a-tete meetings, roundtable discussions and speed dating sessions, all geared to the professional development of the local film, television and new media communities. We also provide an exciting platform for our delegates to access domestic and global market leaders, share the expertise of our international speakers and make the most of the opportunity to meet and foster working relationships with their peers. Our New Filmmakers' Day (NFD), the only event of its kind in Western Canada and a 'standing-room-only' event for the past seven years, is specifically designed to cater to emerging writers, producers and directors of film and television.

And let's not forget the social events! The Forum's receptions, parties and lunches are the ideal venue for networking opportunities with our delegates, guest speakers, sponsors and media.

Our Audience

Delegates include filmmakers, screenwriters, production company executives, TV executives, feature film development executives, distributors, commissioning editors, cinematographers, sales agents, producers' reps, entertainment lawyers, animators, national and provincial film organizations, government agencies, trade show exhibitors, new media professionals and content creators. Attendance is approximately 1,200 participants.

Our Home

In 2005, we celebrated the opening of the Vancouver International Film Centre and Vancity Theatre. Our state-of-the-art facility houses the Vancouver International Film Festival and the Forum. Its theatre, with 170 luxury seats and balcony, hosts screenings, seminars and live entertainment. The three-story glass atrium with indoor and outdoor seating accommodates our receptions and a multi-purpose gallery/exhibition space.
