Awards

In 2014, the Vancouver International Film Festival will offer $27,500 in cash prizes as part of four adjudicated awards. Audience Awards will be announced in an additional six categories. All awards will be announced at our 33rd annual festival, which runs September 25 to October 10, 2014.


2014 Adjudicated Awards 

Best Canadian Film - NEW

$8,000 cash award sponsored by the Directors Guild of Canada

The Most Promising Director of a Canadian Short Film

$2,000 cash award

2013 Winner: Mathieu Arsenault, Nathan

Best BC Film

$10,000 development bursary provided by the Harold Greenberg Fund (The Fund)

2013 Winner: The Dick Knost Show (dir. Bruce Sweeney) 

BC Emerging Filmmaker

$7,500 cash award sponsored by the Union of BC Performers/ACTRA and ACTRA Fraternal Benefits Society, and a $10,000 equipment credit supplied by William F. White

(Films must be signatory to a UBCP/ACTRA agreement to be eligible.)
