How did 20 retired men and women from Marseille find themselves in Paris’ most prestigious contemporary dance theatre? Nurses, housewives, teachers and doctors, aged between 60 and 87 years old and without any dance experience, perform Stravinsky’s masterpiece The Rite of Spring. The fruit of seven years collaboration with the groundbreaking choreographer Thierry Thieû Niang, the show has been acclaimed throughout France.
Denis Sneguirev and Philippe Chevallier’s delightful film shows the culmination of this extraordinary human journey. It shows how the project enriched the lives of the participants, liberated them and rekindled their belief in themselves by injecting a little "spring" into their autumn years.
