Virginia Rankin

Virginia Rankin has recently returned to CTV as Production Executive on Flashpoint, a CTV Original Series which also airs on CBS. At CTV she will also consult on other development and production projects.

Prior to returning to CTV, Virginia worked as an independent Producer and Story Consultant for Capri Films, Thump, Inc. and the Canadian Film Centre, as well as developing her own projects with her company Netherwood Film Productions.

Virginia's previous credits include the top rated and Gemini nominated Eight Days to Live (MOW) for Shaftesbury Films, CTV and Lifetime. In addition, Virginia was a creative producer on the drama series Regenesis (TMN/Movie Central) and numerous television movies, including the Murder 19c series for City/Bravo, Hemingway vs. Callaghan (CBC), In the Dark (TMN/Movie Central) and Sleep Murder (CTV) for Shaftesbury Films.

Prior to joining Shaftesbury, Virginia was Senior Production Executive at CTV, acting as Executive in Charge of Production on more than forty hours of prime time drama.

Virginia has a BFA in Film Production from NYU, and has also made several short films as a writer/director. She attended the Canadian Film Centre as a Director Resident in 1991 and as a Prime Time TV Writer in 1999. She has been nominated for four Geminis.
