CJ Yu
Title: VP, Branded Entertainment & Integrated Media
Company: Carat

CJ Yu is the Vice-President of Branded Entertainment and Integrated Media at Carat, where his role is to reinforce the connective tissue between brand clients across all regional offices and the entertainment industry. Actively managing relationships with TV networks, record labels, producers and film studios on a day-to-day basis, CJ is charged with shepherding clients through the integration process from strategy development through activation and execution.
With a background in television production and roots into the creative development side of this business, CJ’s career began on the production side at E! Entertainment Television, where he worked as a producer for the network on various multi-platform shows and programming distributed on television and digital channels. Shortly after, he left to become a development executive at Mark Burnett Productions, where he participated in the development of global formats and programs such as Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? and supported production on various broadcast and cable programs including The Apprentice and Survivor. CJ credits MBP as his foundation for where he learned the delicate balance between creative storytelling and creative deal making.
Now, as a creative and business development executive with nearly ten years of experience at various industry leading entertainment and interactive companies including Endemol USA (Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Deal or No Deal) and Twentieth Century Fox, CJ acts as Carat’s bridge between the media agency’s wide range of clients and content creators, collaborating with network and production partners to bring the agency’s clients to life through engaging content and creative storytelling.
