Reflecting VIFF's commitment to showcase the best culturally enriching cinema from around the world, the Vancity Theatre is embarking on a new weekly series, DOCside. On most Thursday evenings (with a repeat show Saturday afternoons) the Vancity will present a new documentary feature. Over recent years independent art-house theatres have become an increasingly important circuit for non-fiction filmmakers, a space where their work can be highlighted, seen and discussed, and where engaged audiences can come together to share in a vision of the world not circumscribed by reality soaps and talent shows.
