Crisis of Our Age

ALT | International Shorts

These days our world seems to be overwhelmed by crises, natural disasters and despots. While passing on the latter two, this program of short films takes on significant issues like gun violence, refugees, political corruption, chauvinistic attitudes, misogynistic behaviour, and the long-term effects of American nuclear testing. Some of these problems have been with us for generations while others are products of our modern age, but all need to be addressed. Three of the films are powerful, one-woman performance pieces that will leave many as uncomfortable as they are amazed. Wonderfully cinematic, probing, insightful and even humorous for a bit of relief, this is a collection not afraid to confront, challenge and entertain in moving and different ways.
