2018 Vancouver Korean Film Festival
The inaugural Vancouver Korean Film Festival is a copresentation between VIFF Vancity Theatre and the Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Vancouver. It affords a welcome showcase of the high quality productions from one of the most dynamic and vibrant film cultures on the planet. Korean filmmakers like Bong Joon-ho (Okja) and Park Chan-wook (The Handmaiden) have enjoyed success in North America for years, while Hong Sang-soo, whose On the Beach At Night Alone is our closing film, is an established VIFF festival. But our Korean Film Festival shines a light on some less well known talents working across a variety of genres: costume drama, thriller, even a light-hearted family film, proving the versatility and depth of Korean film culture.
*Excludes Opening Gala screening. Please note that most Korean Film Fest screenings are 19+.
