Night Raiders

Ignite High School Screening

Book Now  TRAILER

In her provocative, pulse-quickening first feature, Danis Goulet devises a speculative future spawned from Canada’s colonial legacy. In a war-ravaged North America circa 2043, Indigenous people live knowing that it’s practically a foregone conclusion that their children will one day fall into the custody of their military occupiers. These abductions come with promises that state institutions will provide education, medical care, and generally “better lives.” Niska (Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers) isn’t buying it. Consequently, when her daughter Waseese (Brooklyn Letexier-Hart) is taken from her, she joins a group of Cree vigilantes intent on springing their children from a fortified compound.

Rich in allegorical power and finely calibrated character dynamics, Night Raiders both reinvents and subverts genre conventions in an array of inspired ways. Embracing the liberties offered by speculative storytelling, Goulet delivers a riveting, relevant action thriller founded on themes of resilience and love. Ultimately, it’s a testament to courage and a reminder that, in the face of callousness, sometimes survival hinges on more than just a killer instinct.
