In keeping with tradition, 13-year-old witch Kiki dusts off her broom and flies away from home for a year of independence and self-discovery in the big city. Her only companion is her beloved black cat, Jiji.
“Kiki’s Delivery Service is Miyazaki’s affirmation of the value of ordinary humanity and everyday life… It’s a warm, gentle, and very beautiful film, and should be in every family’s collection…. There are so few films that say that ordinary, untrendy girls can fly, and even fewer that say flying isn’t the most important thing.” Helen McCarthy, “Hayao Miyazaki: Master of Japanese Animation”.
Our matinee family-friendly shows will feature the English-language version, all ages welcome. Evening screenings will play in Japanese with English subtitles.
