For 20+ years, Catherine Olsen was the Commissioning Editor & Executive Producer of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s “The Passionate Eye”, an award-winning series she developed into one of the most successful documentary strands in North America. Today Catherine is an International Documentary Consultant, Editorial Coach & Producer, who also works as a Moderator & Tutor at some of the world’s most prestigious Festivals & Markets. Catherine is one of the founding members of the Canadian Documentary Festival Hot Docs, & for many years, a member of its international advisory board. She began her career as a camerawoman & editor in Vancouver, & has since worked as a TV journalist, & documentary producer. Films she’s commissioned or invested in have won virtually every award available, including Oscars, Emmys, Canadian Geminis, Bafta’s, & Peabody’s. Catherine is also presently on the Board of the Vancouver International Film Festival.
