Part of a series exploring climate change and climate justice through an Indigenous lens, Mazaska Talks showcases the rise of the divestment movement in Seattle as part of the strategy there to fight the Dakota Access Pipeline. The co-founders of a Seattle based Indigenous-led grassroots organization focused on protecting Indigenous rights share insight into the divestment movement as a tool to combat the destruction of sacred sites and the climate crisis.
This short will screen along with the short, The Smallest Power, preceding the documentary Draw Me Egypt: Doaa El-Adl, a Stroke of Freedom. Together these three films showcase voices for change around the world.
