Reuniting writer-director Caroline Vignal and actress Laure Calamy from 2020’s hit comedy My Donkey, My Lover and Me, It’s Raining Men is the tale of a frustrated wife and mother, Iris (Calamy), neglected by her workaholic husband, and discovering the wondrous new world of dating apps. To her amazement, sex for a woman at this point in the twenty-first century comes in all shapes and sizes, and without consequence (so long as you play your cards right — and learn how to turn notifications off on your phone.)
A natural comedienne, Calamy charts Iris’s journey from inhibition to enthusiastic sexual adventuress with droll delight, and Vignal observes the inevitable complications without judgment, but with a wry detachment.
