Two sisters are hiding inside a wardrobe in an empty room, the younger one thinks it’s a game but it soon becomes apparent that a serious threat has appeared outside. A simple film with a simple message to abusive fathers, don’t underestimate your children’s resolve and resourcefulness. This is a really well done little thriller that keeps to a tight vision, very effectively and simply shot and edited to produce tension and build the viewer’s relationship with the girls. Much of the action takes place off-screen and is implied by the audio, but it’s the surprise climatic moment that delivers the knockout punch. Mesmerizing for the uneducated, galvanizing in its execution, and genuinely nerve-wracking to watch, this is a great little blast of vengeance for all abused children. A bona fide pulse-pounder. Peekaboom!
