Oct 1 & 2
Emily Carr University, Centre for Digital Media, and Departure Lounge
Welcome to a new interactive exhibition that investigates the power and potential of creative technologies in storytelling. At a time where technology, the internet and entertainment are converging, we’re also on the cusp of a shift to a new era of computing and digital human experience. In celebration of the 40 year old video game industry in BC and the 25th anniversary of DigiBC, we have curated 16 projects that let you watch, interact and imagine the possibilities of where storytelling is going. You will have two hours to explore three themes, each in their own spaces:
-
Descend explores the impact of video game engines on live performance in Opera, Music and filmmaking
-
cikâstehtin (its shadow can be seen; reflected [by rays of light]) featuring two powerful immersive documentaries and several AR works
-
Virtual Arcade is the playground where you can paint, play and interact
We hope you enjoy and join us in thanking the artists, studios and our sponsors!
