When K-pop superstars Rumi, Mira and Zoey aren’t selling out stadiums or topping the Billboard charts as girl group Huntr/x , they’re moonlighting as demon hunters to protect their fans from ever-present supernatural danger.
The surprise hit of 2025, KPop Demon Hunters is a blast of good vibes and catchy tunes — this generation’s Ghostbusters, Gorillaz, or Spice Girls — or some delightfully unholy combination of all three. Rated PG, all ages welcome!
I initially didn’t intend to watch the Netflix blockbuster KPop Demon Hunters… and yet, when I did watch it… it made me sigh with relief: Hybrids, mash-ups, whatever you want to call it, are no longer a freak show that can only be enjoyed ironically. KPop Demon Hunters is a sign of the times: We’re at a post-multicultural, post-irony and post-meta end of history. Bless this mess.
