A.W. Hopkins
A.W. Hopkins is Interior Salish and a member of N’Quatqua First Nation.’ His first feature film, Indian Road Trip, won Best BC Director at the 2020 Whistler Film Festival. He also won an Honorable Mention for Best Screenplay in the Borsos Film Competition. He has directed two short films, Shin Chi’s Canoe and FlyPaper. After winning the DGC BC Greenlight Awards competition, his new film, Cloud Striker is on its way to the festival circuit. In 2021, A.W. attended the Canadian Film Center Directors Lab. He holds a Master of Fine Arts Degree (MFA) in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia where he focused on writing for screen.
