A young man’s surprise birthday dinner for his girlfriend is not met with the response he was expecting, which leads to the most frightful night of their lives. What an inspired and fresh horror rom-com this is that cleverly carries the message that people are capable of being loved despite their own preconceived flaws and imperfections. Perfectly straddles the fine line between horror and a rather sweet love story with both characters hiding their own brand of crazy from each other. Terrific performances with consistently clever dialogue play with the genres while exploring the overarching theme of vulnerability in an innovative way that is entertaining, emotional, and very humorous. This is not a deep film, just an insightful twist on a genre piece that delivers a totally wild and hilarious ride. Crazy is as crazy does in this scenario!
