Nowhere

Canadian Premiere

A teacher and a young barista are too prudent to say anything about their mutual attraction, but after dark a world emerges where their shadows come alive. This incredible combination of live action, VFX and animation starts out slyly conventionally following a male protagonist going about his day, but then it seamlessly transitions into a fantastical work, imagining a world where shadows roam free. A wonderful concept beautifully executed with lush B&W noir influenced visuals, a great soundtrack and no dialogue. The animation and visual effects are terrific, blending together seamlessly to render the shadow world in marvelous detail complete with 1950’s style dance numbers. It’s a hugely entertaining fantasy evening where what was not possible in the real world becomes possible for their normally suppressed shadows.
