Lucille Pacey, Board Chair

Lucile Pacey is former President and CEO of Arts Umbrella; prior to that she consulted with the Paris based company Reed Midem, where she worked with academic Institutions and software companies in North America who were designing strategies for distant and open learning.  As Vice President of the Open Learning Agency she was responsible for the operations of the Knowledge Network, the Open University and the Open School.  Lucille is the Past Chair of the National Board for Culture Days, she has served on the Board of Emily Carr University of Art and Design and on the Board of the Vancouver Biennale. She was President of the Canadian Association for Distance Education, was the founding President of the non-profit society Art Starts in Schools, and Chaired the CANARIE Board, Canada’s Network for Advanced Research. Currently, she is a member of the BC CPA membership committee, and is a member of the International Woman’s Forum in Vancouver. Lucille was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree (Honoris Causa) for her work in arts, culture, and education, from Kwantlen Polytechnic University in 2019.
