The first feature from former Toronto FLOW OTA Live host and producer Reza Dahya is a boisterous, sometimes bruising day-in-the-life of wannabe rapper Rome (Ashton James), who believes his time has come when a coworker at the warehouse promises to get him a meeting with visiting megastar Richie Hill (Rich Kidd). His fortunes immediately take a plunge when his apartment is robbed and the thieves take off with his recordings, but by crisscrossing the city and calling on his friends, family and collaborators, Rome still believes he can make it come together.
Dahya says he set out to make “an ode to a vibrant and under-appreciated music scene,” and that’s just what he’s done in this authentically 905 youth drama — think Rye Lane and Clement Virgo’s Brother, but with its own distinctive hip-hop pulse.

A Serious Man
The Coen brothers' best movie is a painfully funny existentialist comedy about a physics professor, Larry Gopnik (Michael Stuhlberg), benumbed but bewildered by his wife's announcement that she wants a divorce. That's only the start of his troubles.
