Following up on last year’s acclaimed wildfire doc Incandescence, filmmakers Velcrow Ripper and Nova Ami hone in on BC in the summer and fall of 2021, and the “hydroclimate whiplash” that saw us ricochet from the devastation of Lytton by fire, and the disastrous flooding that hit the Fraser Valley soon afterwards. This painful one-two punch could be the new normal. The film focuses on women first responders and other underrepresented voices to explore stories of resistance and recovery, examples of courage, fortitude, creativity and community from which we can all take inspiration.
