VIFF invites producers to submit projects for the 2026 Co-Production Forum, taking place October 3-4, 2026 in Vancouver.
The Forum is open to feature-length projects at the development stage seeking international co-production partners and financing opportunities. Submission is free of charge.
Eligibility & Requirements
Project Requirements
- Projects should be intended as feature-length works (minimum 60 minutes)
- Open to fiction, non-fiction, and animation
- Projects must be at the development stage
- Suitable for international co-production and open for co-producers
- The project has not started shooting yet
Please note: Journalistic or purely informational audiovisual reports will not be considered as non-fiction projects.
Production Criteria
- The project must be presented by its lead producer
- The participation of the director is strongly encouraged
International Focus
- Projects should demonstrate clear international co-production potential, such as:
- Cross-border financing strategies
- International storytelling or themes
- Existing or intended partnerships with producers from other countries
Submission Requirements
- Fully completed Online Submission
- Treatment (5 pages)
- 5-page Script Excerpt or full script
- Full Budget
- Financing Plan (in CAD; indicating precisely which elements are confirmed, pending, applied)
- Director’s Previous Work Sample (as a Link)
- Moodbook/Visuals
- On a voluntary basis, you can submit a project dossier or a merged pdf with collected additional material that might be useful, such as sustainability concept, marketing concept, LOIs, etc.
Participation Requirements
Selected participants agree to:
- Confirm participation within the stated deadline
- Attend the Forum in person in Vancouver
- Be available for all scheduled meetings and activities
- Provide all requested promotional materials for publication in the Forum catalogue and website
- Conduct meetings and materials in English
Selection Process
Up to 8 projects will be selected by VIFF based on artistic merit, feasibility, and international co-production potential.
Selected participants will receive:
- An official invitation to the Forum
- A customized schedule of industry meetings
- A festival pass to access Artist and Industry sessions and networking events
