Born in Seoul in 1989, Yoo graduated from Sungshin Women’s University with a degree in consumer studies. She completed the short film production course at MediACT and made her directorial debut in 2018 with the short film Scent. Originally a research writer for a current affairs program at the Korean television network JTBC, Yoo later transitioned to a position as a variety show writer. She also spent three years operating an art gallery.
