DigiBC, MUTEK x VIFF Live Presents Immersive Experiences
DigiBC, VIFF, and MUTEK are proud to support the presentation of two immersive works as part of our distribution and export strategy. Both works are supported through the DigiBC Creative Lab, in partnership with the Canada Media Fund, as part of DigiBC’s ongoing distribution and export strategy for BC’s creative technology sector.
Twenty Twenty-Five
Twenty Twenty-Five by Vancouver-based new media artist Ghazal Majidi uses the viewer’s reflection and body as a lens, bringing images from an archive of airstrikes into view. The interactive installation invites audiences to consider how we encounter, interpret, and distance ourselves from images of conflict.
Sacred Tags
Sacred Tags by Toronto-based Anishinaabe artist Quinn Hopkins brings graffiti and ancient rock painting into dialogue through interactive projection. The work explores connections between contemporary urban expression and Indigenous visual traditions, inviting audiences to engage with ancestral memories through a contemporary digital medium.
