MODES

International short works that explore how far the form of cinema is capable of bending

Celebrating 10 years of MODES, this is your invitation to once again submit to the artist. Exploring how far the form of cinema is capable of bending, this series foregrounds bold international and Canadian works of avant-garde film, video art, and screen experimentation. Expanding the frame on art, politics, perception, and human experience, this year MODES seeks to shift the colonial centrifuge, reckon with the accelerating pace of contemporary life, and illuminate our responsibility to one another, while making space for intuitive, embodied, esoteric, and often-unseen feminine knowledge.
