This Month’s Film
FernGully: The Last Rainforest is a magical animated adventure set in a lush rainforest, where forest fairy Crysta, her friends, and a curious human named Zak discover the importance of protecting the forest and its ancient life force. Vibrant tropical colors, rainforest creatures, and an unforgettably batty bat (Robin Williams) bring this story to life, blending forest magic with a heartfelt environmental message. As they face Hexus, a dangerous spirit that threatens the forest, they learn the power of teamwork, courage, and respect for the natural world. A beloved classic that delights and inspires families of all ages.
Before the film gets started, kids can have fun with making their own crafts! A special themed snack pack including rainforest candy, small popcorn and small drink, will be available to purchase.
Please note: VIFF Kids Club is designed for families to attend together. Adults can only attend if they’re bringing a child, and children can only attend if accompanied by an adult.
Does your family have a film idea for Kids Club? Let our staff know after the movie, or submit your idea online!
Content considerations: Tim Curry voices Hexus, a menacing, oily spirit who wants to cut down the rainforest. This creature can be scary at times for young audiences if this is their first time seeing the film. We recommend ages 6 and up.
