Berthold is a German-Indonesian filmmaker. His shorts Summer Hit and Baby Brother screened at festivals like SXSW and won awards at Palm Springs ShortFest, Premiers Plans, and Brussels SFF. As a screenwriter, he has worked on several TV projects. Berthold is currently developing his first feature A Summer Tale with producers Ingo Fliess and Jonas Egert at if…Productions. The project was awarded the Comedy Lab Award at the Torino Film Lab. His latest short “Vaterland” or a Bule Named Yamato premiered at the Semaine de la Critique du Festival de Cannes 2026.
