Mehraneh Salimian

Mehraneh Salimian is an Iranian filmmaker working across documentary, fiction, and video installation. With a background in 16mm, she explores the intersection of public and private spaces and the sensory dimensions of personal and collective memory. Salimian’s work has screened at several Oscar-qualifying festivals worldwide and has been exhibited at major venues including EXPO Chicago and Art on the Mart. Her recent short documentary, Memories of a Window, premiered at the 2026 Berlinale, where it received the Crystal Bear for Best Short Film in the Generation section.

Amin Pakparvar

Amin Pakparvar is an Iranian documentary filmmaker and researcher. His work examines how contemporary Iranian archives can be reconfigured into potential histories that reshape understandings of the present and open up alternative futures. Pakparvar holds a master’s degree in visual and critical studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and his writing has appeared in publications including Found Footage Magazine. Pakparvar’s documentary films have been supported by organizations such as the Sundance Institute and have received international recognition, including the Berlinale Crystal Bear for Best Short Film in the Generation section.
