Athena Han
Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Athena Han graduated from the film production program at Simon Fraser University and was a mentee at the Vancouver International Film Festival in 2019. As a Taiwanese-Canadian writer and director, Han likes to tell stories exploring family dynamics, culture clashes, and self-identity. Her short films have been showcased in numerous festivals such as Cinequest, Ohode Island, Taiwan’s Golden Harvest, Whistler, and the Los Angeles Asian Film Festival. She has received awards such as the A&E Short Filmmaker Award for Best Film and the Shaw Media Fearless Female Director Award.
