Yuri Muraoka was born in Tokyo in 1981 and graduated from the 26th class of the Image Forum Institute of the Moving Image. She creates moving images and photographic works of self-portraiture, all of which are self-created and self-performed, including Schizophrenia (2016), Transparent, the world is. (2019), and others. Her film Transparent, I am. (2020) won the Grand Prix at the 67th International Short Film Festival Oberhausen. Muraoka is a mother of two daughters and has been writing poetry since 2018.
